#Addendum: Luma/Chroma
2 messages in this thread
Chuck, after posting my prior note regarding luma level, chroma level and phase
problems, I did the following:
In Flyer: loaded the ColorBars file into the Proj window and played it: the
amplitudes are a bit better than in the clip I had recorded, but the phase
shift is still about 8 degrees CCW from spec.
Quit Flyer, went into Old Toaster: Original Toaster color bars are a LOT closer
to target phase.
Net: the Flyer outputs colors that are shifted about 8 degrees from spec, for
both the ColorBars file and the clip I recorded. There is about an 8-9 IRE loss
in recorded luma amplitudes (grey, white).
Is AutoCalibrate supposed to deal with such shortfalls? Why is it hanging up?
(4.03, Original Toaster, A2000, 25MHz accelerator).

Nick,
I have a set-up very similar to yours. I have A2000. T2000. GVP COmob '030 33
mhz accel.
First, do the aircap adjustment on the T2000 to get the ERR1 voltage to -2.1.
With that set-up I've been able to get my bars tape to match the Flyer bars to
the point where its almost impossible to tell where the line in the "split
screen" is when I do a half-TBar on the vertical single blind (or whatever it
is called). Now, I do use a Y/C transcoding TBC both in and out of hte Flyer.
If you like, I can hook the Toaster/Flyer direct to the WF/VS and see if I see
the same level and phase shifts you are getting.
