I have just started working with Animator Studio, but I cannot preview either
the work area or the movie from within the application. Whenever I hit the
"play" button, or use the keyboard shortcuts, all that happens it it says
'playing' for about a half a second, then it just goes to frame one. The AVI
files will play fine from the Windows media player or the external Autodesk
animation player.
Any suggestions?

Ahah! This is something I can duplicate when my resources are low. For
instance, this is the effect I get when I load about 5 AVI files in AAStudio –
the 5th won't play. When I looked at the Program Manager's Help/About Program
Manager dialog box, it said I had about 45% Resources. In my case when I went
below 45 it would fail, and above it would play.
If this is what's happening (free up more resources on your machine to try
this) let me know. It's written up as a bug.
