#Where's the RAM?
4 messages in this thread
I've installed a PowerPro 601 with an additional 32mb of ram on the board.
When I run my quadra 800 as a 68040, the additional memory present on the
powerpro is not available.
In the powerpro control panel:
"use powerpro memory" is on
"modern memory manager" is off
Any help greatly appreciated.

Are you using 2 16 MB SIMMs? If so, then check to see if you have composite
SIMMs. Apple reccommends that you do no use composite SIMMs in their machines,
and using an accelerator can cause even more problems.
You can check for 16 MB composite SIMMs by counting the chips. A 16 MB
composite SIMM will have 32 chips.
If what you have is a non-composite SIMM, or you are using 4 8 MB SIMMs, then
try calling Tech Support at 404-967-2077 so that they may further help you
resolve your problem.

Hi Greg…
The SIMMS I'm using are 8 4mb x 4 non-composite (single-sided/high-density).
Called the Daystar tech support number regarding this problem. Couldn't hang on
hold long enough to get through.
Can you (or someone in tech support) either call me back or respond to this
problem via e-mail?
My voice phone # is 203 928 1042 fax 203 928 1238
Thanks
