Greg, I may have missed your reply to my messgae about upgrades; I can't find it in the messages section any more! So here goes again… Is it possible to upgrade my 33MHz Turbo040i (which is running fine in my Mac IIvi) to PowerPC spec.? If so, what is the best way to go about it, and what would be the approximate cost (in the UK)? Failing that, are there any other "performance increasing" upgrades available for the Turbo 040i, perhaps including adding an FPU?

>>Is it possible to upgrade my 33MHz Turbo040i >>(which is running fine in my Mac IIvi) to >>PowerPC spec.? Yes. You can upgrade any previous DayStar purchase to any existing product. To upgrade from the 33 MHz Turbo 040i to the 66 MHz Turbo 601, your upgrade costs is $676. For the 100 MHz Turbo 601, your upgrade costs is $816. >>If so, what is the best way to go about it…? The best way is to download the Universal Upgrade form found in our software library here on CompuServe (MACAVEN, Section 6, Software Library), and fax it to 404-967-3018. This will go to our Upgrade Department, and they will process it from there. >>…are there any other "performance increasing" >>upgrades available for the Turbo 040i, perhaps >>including adding an FPU? Because of the integrated nature of the FPU in the 040, there is no way to add one to a board which contains a LC040 which lacks the FPU. Your best bet would be a processor upgrade (i.e. Turbo 601 upgrade…) 🙂 Hope that this helps, and thanks for your continued interest in DayStar products…. Bill Waits DayStar Digital
