Hello Gary, I have another question for you: A week ago you said 3DS 3.0 would run under OS/2. I want to clarify a bit. Does this mean 3DS will run as a *true* OS/2 program, or as a DOS program under OS/2? And, since OS/2 is a 32 bit OS, will programmers of IPAS routines still need the pharlap 4.0 DOS extender when writing C code, or will we know be able to code with any C/C++ compiler? Thanks for the help!

3DS 3.0 will ship with the Phar Lap 4.1 DOS extender (the same version that is bound into AutoCAD r12 for DOS). Phar Lap 4.1 provides VCPI memory management services, which will allow 3DS r3 to run in a DOS box under Windows and OS/2. It _won't_ be a true OS/2 program. Regarding IPAS, it'll still require the Phar Lap linker for its development environment. – G

Thanks very much for the quick reply, Gary. One day I'm gonna dazzle you with all our IPAS routines, and then it'll all have been worth it! Seeya James

I'm looking forward to seeing them, James! I was just telling Tom that I'm anxiously awaiting the first IPAS routine that gets uploaded by one of you to the forum. To that end, I've just primed the pump a bit with some new material in DL1…. Check it out! – G
