GreG- I am trying to import a DXF model of a human man and have gotten it to load in just fine, but I don't know what all those settings on the LOAD DXF requestor are. I think this particular DXF file should have the arms and legs and eyes and hair etc. as different objects for easy manipulation. It looks to me as if it was put together that way. Is there documentation on the DXF functions in Imagine because the book does not discuss it much? Thanks, Darin

Darin, The robust DXF import/export is not documented in the manual because it was introduced in Imagine 3.1. To load in a DXF object that has seperate entities check the following boxes only: NEW ENTITY -> NEW OBJECT LAYER CHANGE -> NEW OBJECT COLOR CHANGE -> NEW OBJECT Note, that even though an object was created with distinct seperate objects for hair, eyes, etc., it may have been saved, or converted to DXF from another format even, as a single object. In this case, you'd need to break out the individual pieces. To do this, enter points mode, select one point in say the hair, then select MORE until no more points get selected. Press SHIFT to see the point count increase and then stop. Once you have this object selected, HIDE UNSELECTED, then enter faces mode and select ALL. Then select SPLIT to break this object out. -GreG

>> Don't tell my that this will select the next connected point? I'll scream if you do!!! << Sam, This will select the adjacent points to the points already selected. Done enough times (I set MORE as a user gadget) you will select all the connected points. This works great for selecting specific objects within an group of objects that were JOINED. BTW, this also works if you are in edges, and faces mode. >> Hey this game stuff I'm doing is fun. Not to mention I'm learning a lot too!!!<G> << So what's the scoop? What are ya doin? E-mail me. -GreG
