>>Great image (of course).<g> Thanks :^) (though I'm sure there are those who will differ in opinion w/your parenthesis). >>I have to know how you did the plasma Cloud. 3DS IPAS right? Weell, you know how we are, always like to keep dabbling w/them ;^). Seriously though, I used two; particle cloud and LenzFX Aura. I set up the fingers and hand/arm as matte objects (so the background could show through), made a bunch of clumpy particle clouds, and glowed them using Aura, w/aura set to affect the alpha channel. This gave me a picture of the glowing particle cloud against a black background w/what looked like black fingers reaching into it (looked pretty interesting as a picture by itself), which I then composited over the alien background scene. If I didn't have these IPAS's, I'd have had to paint a couple of image maps, use planar image mapping to project them onto a series of flat objects as color and transparency maps placedalong the lendth of the hand. I'd imagine Imagine would be able to do something quite similar w/fog objects and procedural textures, right? John Stetzer JWS

>> I'd imagine Imagine would be able to do something quite similar w/fog objects and procedural textures, right? << I'm not so sure I could get it to look that good, but I'll put it on my "things to try when I get the time" list. Right now I have to find out what's causing Imagine to crash all the time. -Sam J. Bowling
