[C Thanks! From What I've gathered, the DX100, DX21, and DX27 all have
identical sound circuitry. Patches for one work on the others. None have
velocity sensi keyboards (both the 21 and 27 have large keys) but all have
velocity sensitive hardware. Patches can use velocity info, but the keyboard
can't send it. Another MIDI keyboard or Amiga (?) can send the info and the
DX's will react. THe difference between the 21 and 27 is that the 21's
keyboard can be split while the 27's cannot. Other than that they are
supposedly identical. This is not just for you, but for general info. For me,
the DX27 looks like a good c [choice. Thanks. Phil.
May not have been for me only, but it helped. I'm not up on the smaller
Yamaha machines… I live up in the 7 and 216 range. I had played with a 21
a bit and was familiar with that, but that's about all.
One think I think is cute on the 100 (and I assume the 27) is the
pitchbender, which can be set to affect all notes, lowest note, or highest
note. This makes for some great guitar simulations.
I'm impressed that the 100 can respond to velocity information… I knew the
21 did, but the 100 too, that's nice.
Okay, okay, I hear the grumbling, guys. But remember, these things have CPUs
in them… what? Yeah, I know it's not a 68000, but… but you… but… we
just… okay.
