Well, I just got my july issue of Byte and after a cursory inspection of it there don't seem to be any long anti-amiga letters to the editor this month. There are a few mentions of amiga here and there if you know where to look, In "Whats New", page 46–Item for comm. program A-Talk, Page 42–Absoft fortran-77 compiler, Page38 –Compsec 2Meg Ram board,Page 32–Transtime Database for Amiga, In the Microbytes section, Page 10-Brief (1 paragraph) description of the most crowded booth at comdex (The Amiga's) and sidecar, also Page 10, in Nanobytes, A mention of the Philadelphia Veterans Stadium, which has an Amiga connected to the 42-foot-wide Panavision scoreboard, doing animation made with Aegis Images and Deluxe Paint. Sounds neat. If anyone goes to any games there, let us know what you see. Most interesting is something on pages 460-461, about how Byte is now going to provide software listings in the Cauzin softstrip format. Cauzin's ad says they have the unit and software for IBM's, Mac's and Apples, but the Byte notice on 461 says it will work with most any computer with a DB-25 serial port that can capture at 4800 baud, and they tried it at there office with an Amiga! and it worked just fine. Unfortunately they were using the Maxicomm package, (maybe that's why they are coming down on the amiga? <he he>) Seems this softstrip thing would be of interest to amiga owners too, if we could get a program to make them on dot matrix printers like they do for macs and IBM's. Then even the small magazines and newsletters could print listings.
