I've left an EasyPlex for an IBM user who had the "?~?~?~" problem. Hopefully
he'll know the magic word that tells USR tech support what to do. Re user CIS
at 8-N-1: you must log on at each rate that you normally use (2400 for most
work, 300 for CO?) with your current settings. GO DEFALT and set it
permanently for 8-N-1, then log off. The settings don't take effect until you
log off and on again, and seperate profiles are kept for each rate. When you
log on at 8-N-1, everything up to but not including the Password prompt at
login may be garbled — no big deal, right? >Bela<
