Greg, I will be using a SVHS or Hi8 recording deck. Since I will be renting the deck, I will have a choice of the model. But, most likely, I will be using a Panasonic AG-7750 SVHS deck. I have a list of all the VTR's SoftVTR can use, and this model # is on there. If you could tell me if this deck will work fine, or recommend another deck, it would greatly be appreciated. Also, does SoftVTR work thru 3DStudio, where you tell it how many frames, what frame to start with, and so on, or does SoftVTR use its own software. Basically, I have never went out to video before, so I am trying to get some advice, mostly on a controller board (Diaquest or SoftVTR, which is less than half the price; what is the difference if any. Thanks, Mike.

Michael, I've forwarded your message on the board to Greg Pyros with his UID. This UID is how the CIS computers identify us. Names are only used by us non-machines…….<grin>.

MIke, I've just read your reply after I responed to your first message. The AG-7750 will work fine with SoftVTR (I have customers using that combination currently). As to what software is available, as I said in the other message you can either operate completely within 3DS or put to tape outside 3DS. I have been rendering to disk (#'d list of TGA's), using the script generator and putting to tape outside 3DS. This doesn't tie-up my "Render-Slave". Ang

Michael: Seems like Ang covered most of the issues in his reply – let me know if you have any problems… Greg Pyros
