Roy, From sitting on both sides of the issue, I'd like to try to dampen your flames a bit. Very often it really isn't the seller's (distributor, dealer, mail-order house etc) fault that something that really did appear to be in stock is suddenly out of stock. There have been many times where a manufacturer's inability to get floppies (for example) will suddenly and unexpectedly cut supply of their products down on a global basis. One thing to keep in mind is that Floppies are going through some of the same dynamics as ram chips these days. Anyway, just trying to offer a different perspective. Perry

Perry, My flames were not meant for the original software publisher, but the retail outlet. They should be set up to tell a purchasing IF they they have a product available to sell. If through some error they find out that it MUST be back ordered, they should atleast notify the customer. Failing that, they should atleast be nice enough to offer to cancel the order on their toll free 800 number, rather than require an ex-customer to make a second call to a long distant number to cancel it. Mistakes happen, but this settup screams out that the customer does not come first or second or even third. Such sentiments ususally lead to a business with a very short lifetime. ASDG has never been guilty of this type of customer apathy, which is one of the reasons that your company is well respected! BTW, any idea when 2000-in-1 will be available??????????? -RSL-
