Well, I think that one of the reasons that we need debuggers less is simply
experience – we don't code the same common errors anymore. I spend a fair
amount of time inside of gdb and the kernel debugger these days – but I'm
doing some *large* and complex code for a distributed system, and the
points of potential error are subtle.
