Not just an SQL interface (which implies indirect SQL access) but a fullblown
SAA compatible version of SQL will be supplied with DBASE IV and will be the
method of choice for accessing it (see DBASE IV article in June 88 issue of
computer shopper). They're promising it around August and I understand
current DBASE III users will get the upgrade for $175. SQL is a great method
of accessing databases and DB2 is getting better with each new release. An
understanding of SQL is key to access of databases in the future. This is
really the first time that all hardware and software vendors seem to be in
agreement on andard. This is less IBM's doing than the fact that E.F.Codd and
Chris Date were working for IBM when the idea of relational databases was
theorized by Codd. Boy did I go off on tangents. Anyway the new version of
Dbase sounds goo.d It would be nice to have it on my Amiga.
