Sure, you can keep all the stats you want. People come here to ask questions and to be informed. They do _not_ come here to get a sugar coated version of how good a program is or to hear only the good things about it. I really do wish you'd been keeping stats Henry, because I'd be really interested in what you consider a flame vs. what you consider a positive comment. I constantly see recommendations for programs, people defending a program, and so on. I also see negative comments about a program. it is the proper function of discussion to discuss all aspects of the subject. The reason you'll see more responses to a negative comment is that we bloody well CARE about software for this machine. Some care more about certain programs than others, but if a product is good, and someone recommends it, you won't see a lot of flak about it. Why bother if the job has already been done. If the program has preoblems, they will be pointed out. So what's your problem with that? As for whether or not someone owns the program, it is immaterial. Does a reporter have to have a nuclear reactor before reporting on the events taking place in one? Does a person have to have had bubonic plague to know that it isn't a good thing to have? We rely on others for information that allows us to make rational decisions at low cost, whether that cost is in money or pain or irritation. from what i have seen so far, I would not take your opinion on a product very seriously at all. You gloss over the shortcomings and get your back up when others have had completely opposite experiences. (cont)
