I currently am using a Tandy Model 100, and am interested in a new,more
versatile computer and the Amiga was recommended by a friend, I felt that the
best place to find out about it's virtues was here ,any input as to
advantages over other computers would be welcomed.

Well, the Amiga's not a laptop, but beyond that…it's a far superior
computer to the 100, at a higher price of course.
Among some of it's features are:
1. True multi-tasking (run more than 1 program at once)
2. Fantastic graphics
3. Stereo sound
4. High capacity floppy disks (880K per disk)
5. Custom chips do much of the work so the processor doesn't have to
6. Fully expandable
7. etc…lots and lots of goodies.
The next question thou is what do you want to do with a computer? If
you need a laptop for note taking, then your 100 should be fine. If you need
or want the things an Amiga can do…then it's the computer for you.
I'd really suggest you take a trip to an Amiga dealer's and play with
one for a bit…that should convince you.
