Howdy All,
Just thought I'd let you know that I also never recieved Issue V2.2 I
just recieved 2.3 today so would like to know how to go about getting 2.2. BTW
the card in the magazines center mentions microfiche Back Issue prices but says
nothing about hard copy prices. Subscription info follows.

I notice that we never get any replies here from Transactor. It's a good
magazine, but I am dismayed by the poor service. I too received issue 2.3
today, but never receieved 2.2. My sub # is 9045. What's happening Croftward?
HEY!! 2.3 FINALLY showed up. Now how about 2.2? Sure would like to read part
one of the article in 2.3…

I am getting rather fed up with it. I shall be trying to phone and talk to
these people, and get some action. Considering how much I spent for a
subscription, and disks, I am out about $90US. Too much to spend on something I
am not getting.

Joe,
We are working with two separate items here. The support people on CIS are the
editorial staff. They are responsible for accepting articles, editing them,
and putting the magazine into printable form. They have no control over the
things that happen after that. Nick Sullivan, Chris Zamora, Malcolm O'Brien,
and Tim Grantham are the editors.
Since last fall, an entirely separate group of people are responsible for the
physical printing, mailing, etc., of the magazine. This group of people are
employees of Croftward Publishing, and it is they who are falling down on the
job.
What we have done here – and I am also one of the guilty – is to blame the
editorial staff for things they cannot possibly control, and it seems a bit
pointless for them to continue coming here to answer questions they cannot
possibly answer.
What we NEED to do is call that 800 number given in the magazine and talk
directly to Croftward about our subscription problems. Then, we can ask about
other things here on the forum and expect answers, but only if our questions
deal with the editorial content of the magazine over which our representatives
have some kind of control.
I feel sure Nick or Malcolm will correct me if I have made an error in
assessing this situation.

Absolutly right. I was not aware that I was not talking to someone with a hold
over publishing. It is unfortunate that the editorial staff cannot wield more
influence over the publishers. (I hope the reverse is not true).I shall be
calling the 800 number tomorrow.

The 800 number was set up for orders only. I suspect that the lady in TX who
answers the phone is entirely unaware of anything but the cost of a
subscription.
As some kind of a technical point…
Tim and I (and our new Asst. Ed., Paul Bosacki) are actually Croftward
employees now. What that means is that our cheques look different now and
Transactor has to give us separation certificates (Cdn. law >yawn< ). We do the
same work, sit in the same chairs, drink the same coffe. But, technically,
we're Croftward employees too.
I actually received a bunch of CompuServe responses recently from Sandra but
many of them were not informative to me. I'll have to explain what info I need
to her. Then CIS turn arounds will be much quicker.

Gee Malcolm, isn't that same coffee getting a bit low? Time to refill the

People DO get replies from Transactor. When Transactor has information to
convey.
Of course, when I say "Transactor" I mean me. I'm getting close to my deadline
on the 8-bit mag and I took the Amiga back to the office. I'm back to using the
64 to catch up on CompuServe.
I've been reading my mail but haven't been in the Fora of late. Busy. I've
reduced my reading here to only Section 8.
Having found the modem cable I need for the 64, I expect I'll be back to being
here more frequently.
I hope to have a response to your request soon.
