I have been working on a tape backup program, though it isn't quite
finished yet. I will be releasing it as soon as I sqaush that last bug. It
is not a handler or driver, but it does the trick.
Another fellow I know has written a handler for SCSI tape, but I don't
know what he is planningto do with it. There seems to be a lot of activity
in the tape area right now, so something should be along soon.

Is there anything happening in the line of VCR tape backup? Seems to me
that many Amiga's already have VCR's hooked up to them, and I know there
are these things for MS-DOS systems, so I thought the Amiga would be a
natural for it!

I know of one project to add VCR backup capability, but I don't know if
it is still in the works or not. The main problem is one of capacity and
reliability.
If you have a decent capacity, accuracy becomes a problem. Consumer-grade
VCRs are one of the worst ways to store computer data that I can think of.
It is far easier to use a real data quality tape drive.

Hi Larry, Thanks for all the help on trying to recover my HD. I have
decided to throw in the towel and reformat and chalk up the loss for
experience or whatever. I had backups of all the important stuff and the
stuff I lost can be gotten from a friend of mine. Thanks again for all the
help.

Larry, thanks for your message. I'd really appreciate it if you could send
me a copy of your program when you get it done–I'll send you a diskette
and/or shareware $$ if you want for your trouble. A lot of people I've
talked to are considering tape backup seriously too—seems like they're
getting just as pissed as I am over have to mess with those @#$%^
floppies!. Its all our fault for having such large HD though right??? 🙂 🙂

The program needs to go through some testing first, but I will be sending
