Thanks for the answer. That does shed some light on this and other
matters. You see, I'm not only new to C, I'm also new to DOS 1.3; in fact,
I don't have DOS 1.3! I have the arp library that corresponds to it. I've
read all the docs on it, but understandably, it assumes some knowledge of
the DOS 1.3 environment. I'm really struggling to understand shells and
the lot. It seems as if they're saying that you can cluster commands in
groups to be executed almost like a script(?). There also seems to be a
lot of redirection and interaction between tasks (jobs?). I have no UNIX
experience, so this is all Greek to this DOS 1.2'er. I downloaded an
archive of what seems to be arp commands for programmers (ARPPRO.ARC).
Well, I have it if I can ever figure out what it is.
