I'm having trouble installing new fonts in Pen Pal. It seems that after I
assign the fonts to my disk full of fonts, the requester recognizes the
names of the new fonts, but when I actually use them, I get dropped to the
bottom of the page, changing the colors of the screen. How does one
successfully install fonts on Pen Pal?

You don't install fonts on Pen Pal. Pen Pal uses normal Amiga fonts in the
normal Amiga way. It allows you, if I remember right, to point to a
different fonts directory, which should be set up the same way as a normal
Amiga fonts directory.
Make sure that your disk is set up with a directory for fonts which
contains the font files and the directory for each separate font's size
files.
