Wanted: A2000

Wanted: Used A 2000. I've just been wrongfully fired(am suing the boss for
200 grand), and am feeling seperation anxiety from my 2500/30. Would like
to find a bare-bones 2000 for el-cheapo (read that, unemployed) that I
can start to soup up. Any joy here? Pleaase, I'm writing this on my
ancient C=64! E-Mail me soon. Thanks! Jim
While it isn't "el cheap'o", I have the following:
A2000
2 floppy drives
50 Meg HD (A2091 w/2 meg on board = 3)
Flixer fixer
Rom Switcher w/ 2.04 & 1.3 roms
Multisync monitor
All less than 18 months old
Dealer says it's worth $1800. What do you think?
Make me a "reasonable" offer.
Your dealer is smoking something if he thinks that system is worth $1800.

Robert:
My addition tells me that $1800 is a reasonable valuation on that system.
Maybe you are not counting the flicker fixer, VGA monitor, Rom switcher,
2nd floppy, and 2 megs additional ram?

I am thinking in comparison terms wherein people are selling
similarlyconfigured A3000s for about $400 more than that. Bob
How 'bout a Sota 386i?

Matthew,
Unfortunately the resale value of that system is probably closer to $1300
or so….
I'd consider that with a 1084 monitor (no multisync monitor or flixer
fixer)

I'm breaking into this thread, and I don't know if this information is
important…
I've been thinking about selling my system for a while (to get a 3000…not
to buy a clone!!). Here's what I've got:
* A2000 with 1 meg Agnus, non-ECS Denise
* Two internal floppies
* GVP 3001 controller…28mhz '030, 50mhz '882, 8 megs burst mode SIMMS,
autoboot chips for IDE controller
* GVP Series II SCSI controller
* 40 meg Quantum HD; this one is the very uncommon low profile drive
that was made for Apple. Very fast small hard drive.
* WB 2.04 on the hard drive
* 1084s monitor, in prett good condition…no fading or distortion, but
an 'invisible', small scratch on the tube.
* I believe that the revision of the motherboard is 6.2…it has not
given me any trouble with any expansion product.
* I'll throw in a cheapo GVC 2400 baud pocket modem, with cable (since
it really doesn't fit on the serial port (the RCA jacks get in the
way)
That's it! Is anyone interested? Any offers? I'd think that this is a
perfect machine for making toast…:) Like to see if its still worth
anything, too. A friend of mine told me that I should get $2000 for it…
