A colleague of mine asked me to post this (SYSOP please relocate to another section if appropriate): We are thinking of buying RIA's On Point CD-ROM library service for use on the network. They recommend using SCSI Express's CD-ROM drive and NLM software. I've done some preliminary research and discovered that there won't be any conflict with our Adaptec SCSI controller or with our current network setup. One thing that is bothering me, other than it's 'real world' utility, is that the drive and software aren't MPC Mutimedia compatible. Is this going to cause compatibility problems in the future when we decide to switch over to Windows and start using Windows-based Multimedia programs? Is it a non-issue? Thanks for your help.

Norman, I'm not positive of this, but I think that the audio part of CD's cannot be shared over a network. In which case you would probably have to set up a separate CD-ROM for multimedia products, so it probably does not matter in this case. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Frank
