BOOT-UP PROBLEMS – HELP!

Can anyone help me solve the problem I'm having with boot-up? I have an A-500 with a Bodega Bay unit, A-501, GVP HD+8 hard disk controller with 2 extra megs of memory and a Quantum LPS-105 hard disk. What's happening is that when I power up (99.9% of the time), I end up with a blank screen and a zzz pointer, instead of my hard disk and ram disk icons. As soon as that happens, I hit CTRL-Amiga-Amiga and it reboots with no problem. I seem to remember having read about this some time ago, but wasn't experiencing the problem at that time, so didn't save the messages. I also have a CBM 2286 Bridgeboard installed. Is there a problem with conflict? Although, things were operating normally until recently. So I doubt that that's the problem. Any help, advice, solution would be appreciated. Thanks. Mary, My guess is that the HD isn't spinning up fast enough. Thus the system is sitting there waiting for it to come online. You might give GVP a call, or look thru their manual to see if there's anything about working with drives that take a bit of time to startup from a power off state. Don
