I spoke to our "font expert" and here's what he had to say:
The FontBBox is normally referenced by an Adobe font and is usually used
when downloading the ps font to the printer. We don't download ps fonts,
we send info either as curves or as bitmaps. And, since it is the driver
that converts the TrueType font to Type1 format, this question doesn't
really apply to CorelDRAW.
Two different non-Adobe PS devices that we've used are Newgen and Pacific
Page – there appeared to be no problems with using them and our fonts.

Thanks for the detailed answer … and now that I've seen it, I realize
that I should have known it from the start! Of COURSE the Windows driver
is going to be handling the TrueType conversions.

And of course, since the missing FontBBox info from the driver's TrueType
Type1s drives a lot of clone printers nuts, they'll have the same problem
with or without Corel.
You might want to make the Fontz aware of that … you can pass the heat
along to Microsoft and the clone PS printer companies when it starts coming
in. It will.
