Does anyone have a driver???
Seriously, I recently have had the good fortune to have a nearby highend
printing firm purchase a Crossfield Scanner with the Scitex(sp) interface
and it is linked fibre optically to a drum recorder and via ethernet to a
Mac network. It is postcript compatible and can create wonderful full
colour scans and the film definitely registers every time <whew>. This
removes alot of the guesswork from colour scanning and is great for some of
the more sophisticated local Mac users but for some reason it doesn't
accept any of our output from Corel…. something about an OPI problem
which translates to output prepress interface or something similar and the
file is trashed. We would appreciate any input from either Corel,
Crossfield or anyone out there….. This is a cosmic plea for assistance!!!

One quick idea. Perhaps you can export EPS, and bring that into PageMaker,
then get it over to the Mac, and OPI from there?
Are you looking to link scans with low res placeholders?

What kind of file does it crash? I've done some output from Corel to Scitex
and everything worked well. The way I do it is to create a postscript print
file using one of the color laser postscript drivers (QMS Color Scripr,
Tektronix Phaser II or something similar that will have o box with "use
color" on the menu). Than they take the postscript file and translate it to
sitex format.
There are some disadvantiges, for example Scitex does not support
"overprint" fearure, even if it did you would not be able to send it using
information created for a leser printer. That means Scitex people have to
recreate the chokes and spreads for you, it is overall command in there so
not a big deal if you did not put outlines for overlaps (those would show).
Second minus is that Scitex is limited to only 256 colors when translating
Postscript print files (I was told this, I couldn't see any problems on my
colorful artwork)
Am I talking about your problems, or all of this is this related?
