How much of the D000 page does the Phar Lap extender need? The whole thing? Thr reason that I ask is that I applied your (and several other people's) suggestions for setting up QEMM386 and managed to free up a LOT of memory. Unfortunately, I am still having problems. I have the C000 to C7FF free but my SCSI board sits at C800 and goes to at least CC00. The D000 page is free, as is the first chunk of the E000 page. The EMS page frame is at the top of the E000 page and runs into the F000 page until it runs into the BIOS rom near the top. As it is, I don't have a full 64K page free for Phar Lap and another for the Targa+. The SCSI controller isn't agile enough to put it into the bottom of the E000 page, but I might still be able to stealth it with QEMM. Is there any way to move the Phar Lap memory area? If it is 64K i'm stuck, but if it is 32K I can stick the SCSI card at D800 or DC00. I'm still working on rearranging things with QEMM, but I sure could use a little more information! Thanks, Chris

Chris, If there's a page frame for the PharLap Dos Extender, I sure don't know where they put it! I've got a VGA in A000-BFFF (& some of Cxxx), 2 SCSI cards and an ESDI and who knows what else in page C, Targa+ in page D (D000-DFFF), QEMM page frame in E000-EFFF, ROM in F. If you're using QEMM, you might want to force it's page frame to E000, rather than letting it find its own from the top. Kevin Krell – Computer Support Associates

I've got my SCSI controller at C800 and it "stealthed" when I set QEMM's Stealth parameter to ST:M with NVR turned on. So, if I exclude **both** the D000 and E000 pages, and put the Targa+ at E000, everything pretty much works. Before, 3DS2 would tell me that it was rendering but nothing would show up on the Targa until it was done. Now it renders from the top down, just like it did in R1. I can jump into the materials editor after I render, and everything seems happy. The only thing… When I, for instance, go to load a 3DS file into the 3D Editor, the "pick a file" dialog box shows me cute littel buttons labled A to F. My new optical drive is G. I can read from it, get directories, etc, but it dosen't show up in its own little button.
