I'm having trouble getting WHAP to log on with Tymnet…
When it asks you to login, all Whap sends is an X… if I wait long enough
it will send the acct# and password, but Tymnet is still waiting for me to
login…
I've set up a file as suggested in the documentation, but it isn't working
(obviously). Any help?

May I assume that you are using Tymnet because you are not near a
CompuServe node? I've never had to use Tymnet. We have a number of CIS
nodes in my area and they are far less expensive and easier to use.
I believe that you need to add some things to the modem initialization
string when you use Tymnet, but I cannot find an example in any of the
docs I have here. I found one for Telenet, but not one for Tymnet. I do
know that we have many Tymnet users who have worked past this problem, and
I'm counting on one of them to give you the information you need. In the
meantime, I'll keep looking. I KNOW I have that information somewhere!
