Jerry: Thanks for the suggestions. I'll have to get an external terminator
to fit the small form factor plug on the CDD 521. It is the last device in
the chain. I'll have to check if I need to pull internal terminators from
the 1742.

Yes, you'll need to pull the internal terminators off the CDD 521. The
external work much better. Seems internal termination just hasn't gotten
to be what it should be yet.

PMFBI, but I don't have an external terminator on my CDD521 and it works
fine. It's internally terminated. We are using a 1742 from which I seem
to recall having to remove resistors, but I'm not positive. (It was months
ago when we set it up.) Hope this helps.
