Hello, Can you tell me if Trantor has anything which will work the the Micro Channel Personal System 2 by IBM. I have a ps/2 model 55sx and need a CD ROM drive. The current options are a NEC SCSI adaptor card for 130.00 to adapt the MCA bus to SCSI. Second option is to purchase a adaptor from Adaptac or Future Domain which would provide for the interface to the MCA bus plus allow up to 6 more SCSI designed drives. I am interested in the NEW TOSHIBA 3401 200 ms 330kb transfer drive or the NEC 74 external drive. I want under 300 ms and >150kb transfer for smooth graphics and video plus I am purchasing a new updated (FEBUARY 1st) soundblaster pro card for the sound part of the deal. Do you have any suggestions. I have found the SCSI adaptors from 25-35 for Future domain adaptors to 379.00 for others.. Will all SCSI ps/2 adaptor kits work with the 2 drives mentioned. I also am interested in the TEXEL drives which are 265 MS 300+kb. All of the above drives are SCSI. The boards for 25.00 are from Future Domain and have no software. Is that software available? Thanks

Trantor makes a model T228 Micro Channel adapter that works with all Micro Channel machines. Currently, our software supports the NEC and Texel drives. The Toshiba 3401 is so new, our drivers don't yet fully support it. We expect a driver release by mid February that supports the Toshiba 3401 in full multi-session Photo CD mode, too. For Future Domain CD-ROM drivers, you need to contact future Domain.

I have just purchased the TEXEL DM5025 PS/2 cd rom kit. It came with your 228 card and I managed to get all of it working in 5 minutes with NO problem. Thanks for a great product.!
