I'm having problems with a new CD300 from Apple connected to a FX (w/8megs)…I'm getting a lot of type 1, 2, 3 and 15 errors when trying to run applications from the CD ROM…and it isn't just on one disk…but several (all from Apple's basic package of free disks). Any thoughts?

Howard, Did you just upgrade to the new CD-ROM drivers? It's possible that they're causing a conflict with some other INITs. Try running with nothing but them and see what happens. If that's not the answer, I'd try a new cable. I'm using a CD300 with an FX and several other things on the SCSI chain and haven't had any problems except briefly when I had the SCSI ID of the new drive set the same as a Syquest drive on the same SCSI chain. And, yes, if you haven't already, make sure that you don't have an ID conflict. Nick

Thanks for the advice, Nick. I'll try all of the above. Howard
