3DS 1024×768 Drivers?

<If you want to try a different driver, you can download TRBDEM.EXE from this
forum. This is a completely FREE 3D Studio display/rendering driver that
supports all resoutions of the '928 for display and render. We also support the
colored mapping icon and 2D shaper arrows just like the built in VGA driver.>
I just received the Metheus 928- 4Meg card and tried your driver last evening.
On installation I discovered that there were only three selections that
appeared to pertain to my card: (1.) S3-928 Generic, (2). Metheus 1 meg and
(3). Metheus VGA. (1) appeared to have the most resolution selections, however
it did not support the 1024-768 mode in 24 bit only 640×480. When selecting a
24 bit mode for RCPADI for rendering and 256 color mode for RCPADI for display
the materials editor did not display proper color. I finally compromised the
installation with 1024×768 256 col for display and rendering sacrificing the 24
bit modes altogether. I still have a targa+ driver set to RDPADI which was
unaffected by your driver installation. So, unless I've not done something
correct, I think your driver does not support all resolutions of the 928 for
display and render. I did find that it does display the mapping icons AND the
continuity and bias arrows in the shaper that I've previously had difficulty
with other drivers. An opinion on the fonts– Since I was at display of
1024×768 I chose the two largest fonts and they both gave 3DS a new look. The
fonts appear hand drawn as opposed to the usual simetric text look. Almost
like TT Dom Casual. Is this the look Panacea desired? More artsey than the
precision computer appearance. The difference is somewhat refreshing, although
I can't say how I'll like the look in the long run. All text is very clean,
without flaws and easy to read.
For 3DS only what comes with the $ version and how would you sell me this
beyond the freeware? I haven't tried to access "special features" eluded to in
the preview that runs for 20 minutes. I'll need to read the turbodemo.doc to
learn about these this weekend.
Your comments would be appreciated and please check my response to Donald
Newlands regarding other problems I'm working on with the Metheus.
