#CDTV Part Deux?
5 messages in this thread
In the latest EE Times is an article about the new "Karaoke-CD" format. This
format fits about 70 minutes of motion video and audio on a 5" CD. The
interesting part was that the head of product development at C= was quoted as
having a version of CDTV that will support this format (with an MPEG-1
decompression chip onboard) currently in development, due out this fall.
FYI…
I wouldn't be surprised. They seem to have alot of things in devolpment.

What does MPEG stand for anyways? Will the new CDTV run Amigados version
3? Will it have AGA, ECS or what? Will it have the DSP?
The article that I have was about the Karaoke-CD format. The CDTV nugget was
very brief, and pointed more towards a show of support for the new CD format
than to exactly what C= was doing.
David,
I hope you're right about this. That new CD-ROM, CD-TV, is what we
need right now. I hope Commodore told some developers about it too so we
don't have to wait for ever for CD ROMs to come out that support ti>
