The 68040 card will plug into your CPU slot, and completely bypass your 030/882 combination. The 040 has built-in floating point support, why do you need to use the 68882? All of my software that needs the fpu – Imagine, Vista, Real3D – work fine with the 040.

The 040 only has a basic math fpu, 68882 would be used for trans. math such as sin and cos. Without it the math libraries have to do the trans. math with software. Ed Cruse
