Well, it's not a very elegant solution. UARTID.EXE returns a message
to the screen on what serial chips you have. I've tried redirecting
the output to NUL: but it still shows up on the screen. You can get
it here on CI$. It's in the TAPCIS library of the TAPCIS forum. (I
think TAPCIS is the IBM forums' answer to AutoPilot). The file is
called COMFIX.EXE. It's only about 48k so it would probably be
easier just to download it. But if that's a problem I don't mind
sending a copy via mail.
