#File Lists?

Do you have anywhere in your libraries a LHA or ZIP file or anything containing
a list of all the files in the libraries? Also for the other forums?
The reason I ask is I have spent 25 years messing with computers (mostly in
assembler) and was introduced to an Amiga (500) a week ago. I was totally
amazed by the graphics & sound capabilities of the machine, and am determined
to get myself a 1200 asap for a lot of fun and programming.
So I'm looking to find out as much as I can about the beasts, and any help,
guidance, suggestions etc you could offer would be much appreciated.
Looking forward to spending a lot more time in these forums.

The file catalogs are in AmigaVendor, Library 9:
ARTCAT.LHA
TEKCAT.LHA
USRCAT.LHA
VNDCAT.LHA
The catalogs have not been updated for about six weeks now. I usually
update them at the beginning of every month, but was out of town at the
beginning of June. But that should give you most of the programs. You
can read them with a text editor, but they are designed to work with
AutoPilot – which you will definitely want if you plan to use your Amiga
on CompuServe. It is also in Lib 9 of AmigaVendor.

Dear Betty: For an article I'm writing (now rewriting ) for CompuServe
Magazine on clip art, could you tell me what professional software
companies who sell offline clipart come onto this forum to provide
obline support for their product? Also, have you come across any
people doing fun projects with clipart obtained in CompuServe. Thank

I believe that Gold Disk (publishers of ProPage DTP software) and Soft
Logic (publishers of PageStream DTP software) both have clipart disks
available. In fact, I belive that Gold Disk has some available on CDROM
as well as on floppies. Both support their products here, and SoftLogic
has a section in AmigaVendor.
Many of our people are doing neat things with clipart, and just about any
other kind of graphics you might mention. We have many artists who
participate here, and who draw their own. Also, our DTP library has a
great deal of clipart, including quite a bit in EPS format.
I wish I could tell you about the projects, but I don't know. I read
them, but I don't keep lists, and I cannot recall now just what people
have been doing.

Sorry to pop in here. I liked it *MUCH MUCH MUCH* better when the file lists
were listed the old way. I could organize them with a spreadsheet and view by
date, name, etc.

By the old way, do you mean the short listings – one line per program?
Those are easy to do. All it requires to get one is to go to Library 1
and type, DIR SHO LIB:ALL (which gets them in date order, newest first.)
If you want them in alphabetical order instead, add *.* to the end of the
command above.

Thanks for the info. That is exactly what I meant by the old way.
Unfortunatly, I tried Autopilot and was very disappointed, so I still
have to log on with my Mac(using CIM) so I don't think that I'd be
able to type the string that you indicated. Thanks anyway 8-{)
