Hello again
Could you or someone please tell me which protocol is the most
efficient protocol to use when downloading stuff from compuserve. I
am currently running A-talk III with a ZOOM 2400 baud modem. I have
been using the Kermit protocol. I tried using the Compuserve B+
protocol included with A-Talk as an external protocol but it kept
giving me a lot of errors and hence incomplete file transfers. Is
this normal? Any suggestions? This large file downloading stuff
gets to be very expensive (Any suggestions short of buying a 9600
baud modem, that is).
BPlus is the best protocol. I've used it with AtalkIII and had no
problems, but I do find that other term programs are easier to use on
CIS than ATALK. I use ATalk for the local boards, but I use only
AutoPilot, HandsOn (built into AutoPilot), or BackTalk for CIS.
Backtalk is free for the downloading, so you might like to try it.
