We are developing a multimedia application using Toolbook in which we need to run FLC files as well as display bitmaps and AVI files (and WAV files, but this is not relevant). We have encountered several palette shifting problems, some of which could be alleviated if we could realize the FLC file's palette in the background using the REALIZE <device> BACKGROUND MCI command. However, this command is not supported by the FLC file driver we are using even though Microsoft's MCI specification says that the REALIZE command is part of the command set for animation devices. What's wrong? Is there a new driver somewhere? We can convert the FLC files to AVI files, but this is not a preferred solution. HELP!!!!

At this time our AAPLAY.DLL does not support the REALIZE option for palette handling. We are aware that this is a big limitation with the product. I have no suggestions for a suitable work-around. Tech is aware of the problem.
