I have a creative Labs CD Rom player that I have fitted to my PC Together with
the Sound Blaster Pro Card. My problem is I don't have
the installation disk or the "Windows with Multi-media" disk.
When trying to run the CD I get an error about MSCDEX not loaded.
Is it possible to download software drivers from anwhere? are CLABS on
Compuserve?
I would be grateful for any advice

David, you need both the driver for the CDROM (*.sys of some kind) and
mscdex.exe which you can download from CIS in the Multimedia Forum. There's a
file in Lib #4 in CDROM called laser3.txt that will show you how to use mscdex
and give you some other info. Creative Labs has a BBS with their drivers, etc.
at 510-428-6660. Might be cheaper, depending on the phone rates. If that's a
problem, I could download their stuff and send it to you here if you tell me
exactly what you need.
