#palette probelms w/Win
2 messages in this thread
2 Hi
I posted a question a couple of days ago regarding the inability of the AA
Windows driver to recognize the REALIZE <device> PALETTE MCI command. Someone
responded saying that Autodesk is sorry but yes, indeed, the command is not
supported. I then posted a reply asking the next obvious question: will
Autodesk ever support this? The message thread dissappeared from the board
since, so..sorry, but I'd like to ask the question again: will Autodesk provide
palette support for its driver and when might this be? It seems a rather
gigantic limitation.
Does anyone there know how to deal with this problem?? (ie we cannot run a .FLC
file using the MCI because it does not know how to realize the palette in the
background).
Any help is really appreciated. We are (as usual) under the gun.
Thanks!
(Sorry your message got lost; CI$ has been having troubles with disappearing
messages on several forums.) The most I can say about "will REALIZE PALETTE
ever be supported" is I hope so; but there've been no official announcements
and I am not in the "priviledged" inner circle on such things. New stuff is
always being worked on. We are aware that this is a big limitation in the
driver. It's the number one question with the Windows Animation Player stuff
right now. I don't know whether the ability will be added to this driver or if
it will be part of some other completely different product.
