WinImages retails for $199.95; about $80 more then Gryphon's product.
When you go for that extra outlay to buy WinImages:morph, here's some
of what you get that you do not, as I currently understand it, get
with Gryphons product:
Much better multitasking (no, lets say you actually GET multitasking
as opposed to not getting it…:) ; the ability to do motion
morphing; targa alpha channel support; much faster display
capabilities; more flexible zooming; you don't have to have
MicroSoft's "Video For Windows" installed (Gryphon requires this);
faster generation of morphs, _especially_ larger ones; considerably
better image file format compatibility; higher quality output image
rendering; more display (editing) options, by which I mean the method
used to view the working area; flexible local velocity and
transparency curves assignable to groups or single control points.
That's the essence of the differences of which I am aware now;
however, I've only seen the demo of Gryphon's morph, for which these
observations are definitely accurate. We *should* be receiving the
Gryphon product tomorrow (Monday), it was shipped UPS red to us from
one of our dealers Friday. If there are differences that would change
this (either way – more advantages for us, or something I've
mistakenly understood the Gryphon product to not handle), I'll post
that data as soon as I've been thru their product.
Ana, please note that I am the president of the company that makes
WinImages:morph. I'm quite honest, but I realize there is no way for
you to verify that… :^) So check out these issues – you'll see I'm
telling you the truth.
Ok, we've got the "real" thing; I did miss something. :^)
Gryphon's morph also requires that you use two images of the exact same
resolution as source images for the morph. For instance, if the first
image is 256×256, then the second must also be 256×256.
Our product (WinImages:morph) features hot rescaling, which allows you to
use source images which have totally different resolutions, aspect ratios
and so on. In addition, the output resolution is independant of the input
resolution(s) – and the filmstrip resolution (did I mention that another
advantage is that we offer in-program playing of preview anims… oh
yeah… :^) caan be yet *another* resolution if you like. That makes four
separate, unrelated operataing resolutions if that's what you want. Of
course, we can work with all the images and the film at 256×256 if that's
whaat your pleasure is.
Knew I should have waited until I saw the "real thing" before I posted the

Nah… it's an indication of the inconsistancy inside my brain, that's
all. :^)
That's the handle on BIX and Portal; slightly different on GENIE (I think,
anyway… :^)… so it gets a bit challenging 'round here at times.
