High Res=Small Menus
3 messages in this thread
I have downloaded the demo versions of Displace PXP. When I run it in
resolution 1024×768 (as I usually operate), its menu does not fill the screen
(if I switch to 640×480, it does). But messages that pop up in the normal
exection of Displace _do_ display at the proper size, i.e., text and buttons
are the same size as the ones 3DS itself displays.
The menu items (font size), buttons and real-time display are all pretty small,
especially on my 14" monitor! Is this to be expected? Or is it a driver
problem? (I am using the built-in Vibrant drivers for my Hercules Graphite).
The brochure says I'll "fall in love with Displace"–Nahhh, 'smore like lust!
Displace (and the other IPAS routines) are all built so they could be used on a
laptop computer running in 640×480 mode. The dialogs are hard-wired to that
res, so on your 14" monitor, running in 1024×768, those dialogs will look
pretty small.
Have you tried running 3DS at 800×600? On a 14" monitor, I've found that
that's my favorite res.
Lust? I wonder where you've been getting your displacement bitmaps from…

Yes, I did, and it was better for the ipas menu, of course.

Heh, heh. What I was trying to say was that I "lust" (def. #2, thank you)
after Displace.pxp itself!
