A1200 to VGA connection
1 messages in this thread
Hi
I would like to connect the video output of an Amiga A1200 to a VGA monitor.
My VGA card gives the following pin information:
1 Red Video
2 Green Video
3 Blue Video
4 Mon ID b2 (not used)
5 Ground
6 Red return (ground)
7 Green return (ground)
8 Blue return (ground)
9 [] Key (no pin)
10 Sync return (ground)
11 Mon ID b0 (not used)
12 [] Mon ID b1 (not used)
13 Horiz. Sync
14 Vert. Sync
15 [] (not used)
The Amiga pins are as usual:
1 /XCLK (In)
2 /XCLKEN (In)
3 Analog Red (75 ohm)
4 Analog Green " "
5 Analog Blue " "
6 DI (47 ohm)
7 DB (47 ohm)
8 DG (47 ohm)
9 DR (47 ohm)
10 /CSYNC (47 ohm)
11 /HSYNC " "
12 /VSYNC " "
13 GNDRTN
14 /PIXELSW (Gelock overlay)
15 /C1 (Clock out)
16 Video Earth
17 Video Earth
18 Video Earth
19 Video Earth
20 Video Earth
21 -12V 10mA
22 +12V 100mA
23 +5V 100mA
I imagine that the Amiga analog R-G-B signals go straight
to the video R-G-B pins, and that the video earth goes to
the monitor ground (This is how I connected a Microvitec
some time ago – I *presume* VGA is different).
I am also not quite certain what to connect for the sync.
Is there anything else I should be aware of? For instance,
do I have to connect the R-G-B returns on the VGA side?
Any help appreciated,
Alex
