Hello, I am trying to get a friend's old printer to work with the Amiga, had gotten some suggestions here, but still can't get it to work. The printer is a Star Gemini 15-X Wide Carriage Dot-Matrix. I tried using a cable with Pin # 14 removed and still cannot get the printer to work correctly. I have tried using the Commodore Generic, EpsonX and EpsonXOld printer drivers with no success. I also tried PageStream's Gemini 15-X printer driver and still could not get the printer to print. The strange part is, if I run Cross-PC, the printer prints quite happily & will also print fine from real IBM PC's… Any ideas or suggestions welcome! Don Suhr 73117,1337t

You should probably check the printer's DIP switches. It may be set for IBM ProPrinter emulation or some other incompatible setting. Since it works with the emulator, the cable is probably OK, printer OK, Amiga OK, etc. So that seems the most likely problem. I don't believe the Amiga comes with a ProPrinter driver. Good luck!
