I have created a model that requires light rays that stream through a metal grill. I have tried several methods such as additive transparency boxes, cylinders etc. None of which give me an acceptable result. The scene itself is quite dark and needs a sort "Close Encounters" ethereal light. Can anyone help?? alan

PMJI, but I think the cylinder option you tried might be your best bet. However, you might try some gradient opacity maps to simulate falloff on the outward end. You might also scale-up the outward end of the cylinders to simulate diffraction. 2c. If your light source moves, this could get trickey. — James — MAP —
