#Non-Linear editing
4 messages in this thread
I am looking to enter the field of non-linear editing. I am almost clueless
with this computer video making ordeal. I have been editing for approx 6
months using linear (grass valley) boards. If possible could someone point me
in a direction where I can receive correct info for starting a beginners level
non-linear editing system. Info composed of Computer Needed, (POWER PC or
QUADRA 660AV) programs (VIDEO FUSION? YES, NO) and all the little things
that are needed to record off a Hi8 camcorder onto a timeline editing table and
back to a S-VHS recorder.

Talk to DMI for thier digital broadcaster it is a working board that is
shipping. We like it. Also at NAB we saw the Flyer and it looks hot but the
interface thou simple may be confining. But I am sure we will have one in house
any how. Now is the time to play with these toys it will give you a real edge
in this bussiness.

Sharon, you are the only person I have ever heard that has a running DMI
Digital Broadcaster. For two years in a row at NAB their demo didn't work. Not
something I'd buy into. You say it is a reliable working system?
