#Amiga Position Statement

Dear Amiga Enthusiast,
By now, you may have heard that Commodore Business Machines is
going out of business. While this certainly spells the end of a
corporate entity, it does not in any way diminish the
outstanding technology which has evolved since the Amiga's
inception. In fact, Commodore's demise may actually spur
additional growth of the Amiga market as new contributors and
technology licensees emerge.
We at The Blue Ribbon SoundWorks remain 100% committed to our
world-wide Amiga customer base. We fully intend to support you
with additional Amiga software and hardware offerings, as
evidenced by our recent release of Bars&Pipes Professional v2.5.
Indeed, our latest edition of Quarter Notes, which is scheduled
for mailing next week, is our biggest newsletter yet!
The Blue Ribbon SoundWorks will continue to set the standards in
Amiga music technology and is proud to offer its customers the
most powerful, innovative and integrated music solutions on any
platform anywhere. Period.
I encourage you to get the most out of your Amiga investment.

long after Commodore's issues have been resolved.

Oh God..This is bad, I bought my amiga just last August.
I had high hopes, having been Commodore-loyal since I was 5 (I'm 13 now)
Please, although I know no one can guarantee it, I wish someone had more
info on whether or not CBM's buyout company will continue the Amiga line.
If anyone has more info, please let me know!

if you GO AMIGAUSER you can catch up on the latest rumours (not that
many facts about, I'm afraid) about what is (believed to be) happening
around the late CBM and our beloved Amiga (which may live long and
prosper…).
There is NO official information from C= (as usual) but half-official
statements from our German head office indicate that the company about to
take over the rest of C= will be carrying on to manufacture and develop
the complete Amiga line of products. Mind you, this is not official, and
won't be until the contracts are actually signed, until then – keep
hoping!

I know it is hard to be patient – and especially when you are 13. For
many years, I taught math to people your age, and I know VERY well how
hard it is for you. But the truth is, no one really knows what will
happen, and if we were to tell you we did, it wouldn't be the truth.
There's really nothing we can do except wait.
There IS something you can do for us, though. We have a full-name policy
in the Amiga Forums (as do most CompuServe forums.) Would you please stop
at the Forum! prompt, type OPTIONS, select the one that has NAME in it,
and type both your first and last names? Then, when you leave the
options, type P to make the change permanent. Thanks.
(Just like a teacher, isn't it – – – "If you don't put your full name on
the paper, you just won't get credit for doing it, you know. How should
*I* know which Norman did this work?" <g>)

ups" have trouble with patience.

Of course we do, Dale – but there is something very special about being
13. If it were not so, I would not have spent half my life working with
13-year old people. I love 'em.

Thanks for the advise, I'll take it, though I'd appreciate it if, (this
goes to all) advise given isn't so patronizing..
bottom line: Don't underestimate me due to my age…
HOWEVER: I am floored by the fact that a math teacher uses an Amiga
instead of those worthless MACs, and isn't scared off by the fact that
"easy to use," isn't written all over the overly-glossy box…

My message was not patronizing – sorry you took it that way. And THIS math
teacher was never afraid of computers. I taught computer programming for quite
a few years, wrote the textbook used for jr. high computer programming course
in my school system for four years, taught adult education in computers,
trained other teachers to use computers, and wrote quite a few articles for
some of the most highly respected of Amiga magazines. If you care to read a
few of them, look in the AmigaUser libraries. Search on the keyword 'Clay.'
Now, with that out of the way, let's be nice to each other. OK?

We don't have many rules here, but one that we do have is that you use both
your first and last names in the forum. Please stop at the Forum! prompt, type
OPTIONS, select the one with 'NAME" in it, and type your first and last names.

Thank you Adam for posting Blue Ribbon's position statement. I use B&P Pro 2.5
and SuperJam almost everyday on my Amiga and love it. Keep up the great work!

I can't imagine Blue Ribbon doing any such thing, why start bogus rumors.
You only have 25+ Amiga products, right. <grin>
In order for a company to survive it has to expand, change and grow with the
industry. Blue Ribbon has provided unparalleled Amiga support, nobody has a
reason to complain.
BTW, B&P_Pro 2.5b is excellent, my only hope is that before adding any new
features the code is tightened up and all (well most) buglets are squashed.
