With so many utilities out there, which ones are worth it and which ones aren't or are not mature enough to be of value to a light LW3d user. In particular WaveMaker, Hollywood Effects, Power Macros for LW, Pixel 3D, Dynamic Motion Module, Sparks, Newton's Law, etc. Also, are there any really good texture packages. I've looked at some at the local store and they really look BAD! Thanks in advance…Brian

Brian, If you want nice textures I'd recommend getting Forge and the Essence texture disks. The Essence textures are a set of procedural textures written for use with Imagine, and Forge is a program for editing and previewing them. You can use them to generate image maps for use with LightWave. Since the Essence textures are procedural you can modify the look of them easily and render them at any resolution you want. If you got both of the Essence volumes you'd have over a hundred textures to use ranging from cedar shingles to cyclones. Forge and Essence can be ordered from Apex Publishing at 415-322-7532. Note: If you can only afford one of the Essence sets get volume 2. I won't comment on most of the software you mentioned since I don't like to talk about software I haven't used a lot. If you want to convert object I'd recommend using Interchange by Syndesis. It uses less chip ram than PixelPro and a lot of people seem to think it does a better job on the conversions. Jeff H…

Brian, Have you looked at Leo Martins Pro Textures? Excellent package of seamless texture maps. It is published by Visual Inspirations in FL 813-935-6410. I forget what they cost me. jmb
