#Harddisk mount&G-force03
2 messages in this thread
I would like to know the following: Creative Computers has a G-force
30-40mh with 4 ram for sale (I guess they are final close-out items) I am
interested in buying one for my Amiga 2000 with Workbench 2.1. I currently
have a GVP Series II hard card with a Maxtor 120Mg. hard disk. I also have
a Supra card with 8mg of ram.
Creative Computer nolonger carries the hard disk mounting hardware for
the G-force accelerator card. my questions are:
1. do you still sell the hard disk mounting hardware for this
accelerator card? ( I called your "help" line and I believe this is item
208). f I can install the mounting bracket onto the new accelerator, can I
have another non-booting hard drive on the old Series II hard card working
too? Since I now have an external hard disk and a CD-ROM drive attached to
the Series II card, can I get faster I/O times by switching to the
accelerator card? An can I then attach NEW external SCSI stuff to the old
hard Card?
2. If you no longer sell this hard disk mounting bracket, can the one
that currently holds the maxtor hard disk onto the Series II card work on
the accelerator card?
3. If the answer is no, can I install the accelerator card, and boot up
from the hard disk on the Series II hard card?
4. Will the accelerator be able to use the 8mgs of ram on the Supra
card? At this point I cannot afford to get rid of the SUpra card and buy
more ram.
Please let me know as soon as possible, because Creatve Computer only
has 10 accelerators left at this great price. How much would this card
cost dirrectly from you under your upgrade program (if any)?
Thanks!
P.S. do you know the fate of Atlantis…err, no I mean the fate of
Commodore, and the Amiga… so many rumors… so little software support
nowadays…

Yes, the mounting kit is still for sale. You can keep the Series II card in
the system, and each can control any number of drives individually. Moving the
current hard drives to the accelerator will produce faster transfers.

You can boot from ANY hard drive connected to ANY controller in the system.

Certainly.
