BG >>Is there a DOS newer that 3.0 (Workbench 39.29)?<< The CD32 has a KickStart 3.1, but there is no 3.1 available for anything else. There was a 3.1, (for all Amigas) in Commodore beta-testing, but it hasn't be released yet. Ron. – ap'ing with AP. (Eagles may fly, but weasels aren't sucked into jet engines.)

It has been said that some 3.1 systems have been released in Canada (likely with the 4000T), but I can't confirm it. The 3.1 systems are (were?) of some interest, since they are intended to work with all platforms. I had been hanging back on an upgrade from 1.3 to 2.1 in case 3.1 became available, saving me a stage. Commodore's hope was that, with 3.1, we'd all be back on the same operating system. Wonder if it will ever happen now? –Jim

Ouch. 1.3? Get 2.1. Even if you got 3.1 next week, the pain you'd save during those 7 days would be worth it! — Dale L. Larson, Intangible Assets Manufacturing

I've been looking for a 2.1 upgrade over the past little while .. but Commodore Canada say they ain't got 'em, and don't know when they might have 'em. Meanwhile, I have a small 2.1 Amiga 600 that I use on occasion. But it was not possible for me to consider upgrading my big-memory Amiga 2000 until recently, since it was not my property. Sigh. –Jim

Jim, Someone posted a message here only yesterday – maybe in AmigaUser – saying that their dealer had about 25 sets of 2.1 updates. Did you see the message? Betty

Don, did you mean to send the message about 3.1 to me? I wonder, because I've known about 3.1 for a very long time. We have it on the A4000 Toaster system we use for broadcasting church services at my church. Betty

Don: From what I understand, you are having problems with a 386BB and a 4000T, right? If so, then you might want to know that I gave up trying to make my 386BB work correctly with my desktop 4000. Dean Brown of DKB Software checked into this sometime ago, and he believes that there is a hardware conflict between the BB and revision -11 of the SuperBuster chip. I believe that as well since my BB was working fine up until the day I replaced my old -09 SuperBuster with the -11 revision. Since you have a 4000T (lucky you!), then chances are you have the latest Buster revision as well. Not to discourage you, but you may find that you will never be able to get that 386BB to work properly. I finally ended up purchasing a Vortex 486SLC GoldenGate and it's been working fine. Utilities Unlimited will soon have 486 emulation with the Emplant, so at least there are alternatives. // John – (TechnoJunkie at heart) \X/ Mercury@ins.infonet.net

Jim, Sounds like you got caught like me only not as bad – I was holding back waiting for the 4000T since I can't seem to make the slots work out no how on a base 4000…. wmc – via Autopilot!
