#bright shaddows
4 messages in this thread
Hi Mike,
did you find the problem that might caused the bright shaddows in my image?
Did you get the images I sent? I guess it's a problem with the way the light
source is handled. BTW, do the caustic light texture work with a spot light? I
tried, but it didn't work.
Will there ever be a converter that we can use our "old" (2.0 and 2.9)
projects in 3.0? It can't be that difficult.
JMTC: I think Imagine is a great product and is worth more than the $100
update I paid. Now if there was a person that would answer all questions here
(also those that you might consider not worth your time) and give some tips…
Will field rendering be in the next update? IMHO it is more important than DOF
which takes just too long to render when making anims.

David,
I had problems with using my 2.9 files with the new 3.0 files. Crashed my
system.
The response I got was, ". . . continue old work on 2.9 and start new work on
3.0. Maybe there will be a converter in the future, no guarantee."
Unfortunately, I was hoping for 3.0 to fix some of the problems I had with 2.9
so I could complete the projects.
What I found out, on my own in desperation, was that if I loaded the project
and went directly to the Action editor and saved the project before doing
anything else, it worked in the majority of cases.
Good luck.

Hi Marc,
thanks for the tip with going to the action editor directly. I'll try than.
The difference in the staging files can't be that big. Right now I have both
version on my HD, but I'd like to get rid of the old one. Imagine you have to
keep two version of each program you are using!

In terms of the Staging files, I never gave it a thought. I think I have only
one version.
I didn't save anything under a different name, I just went to Action, clicked
Save as if I had changed something, then went to Stage and proceeded normally.
Good luck,
-Marco
